BIOGRAPHY

B I O G R A P H Y

Art is his native language, an intuitive expression of emotion beyond words. Pasadena-raised, with a creative lineage dating back to the 1880s, he’s been active since adolescence, blending rational abstraction and spatial computing, filtered through experiences gathered across continents.

Balancing tradition and innovation, his community-driven work includes public projects like LA Metro Art Buses and “Art on TAP” debit cards, highlighting his commitment to accessible, roaming art. His work is housed in collections such as the Cain Library and the AAMB Museum, and has been recognized by celebrity influencers and institutions, including Outward Bound Adventures, CSUDH’s Dymally Institute, LA City Council District 9, the Central Avenue Jazz Festival, and the Department of Cultural Affairs. Creative contributions have also drawn the attention of notable companies such as Netflix, Patagonia, Nike, and the LA Lakers.

With over three decades of practice, he continues to fuse art, technology, and cultural storytelling, defining identity while connecting communities through a contemporary visual language.

STATEMENT

S T A T E M E N T

He believes that art emerges from personal contexts and facilitates transformative exchanges of ideas. Through his art, he bridges expression, engaging in multi-directional communication to make the most of moments when he has someone's undivided attention. His creativity explores the world's complexities, revealing subtle beauty in the ordinary. By capturing the essence of reality through color, texture, and style, he aims to inspire viewers to see the world anew and recognize the divine in all things.

He strives for greater representation and visibility of melanated people in his art. Traditional art has long lacked diversity, primarily featuring European and white perspectives, resulting in a limited representation of Nubian individuals. He creates Black art to increase visibility and authentically portray the beauty and diversity of Nubian culture. Challenging traditional art norms, he aims to create new avenues for expression and appreciation, fostering a more inclusive and representative art world that celebrates the full range of human experiences.
